George Andersch
George's love for martial arts began at age 14 when a friend invited him to train at his father’s Okinawan karate dojo. Even in
the 80’s, long before the concept of cross training styles became the norm, George knew that
one style alone would not cover all aspects of true self defense. He began
making friends at the various dojo’s around town and thus his training began.
George joined the Army in 1991 and had the opportunity to expand
his martial arts knowledge yet again. By sheer coincidence, when assigned to Ft
Bragg, he was placed in the same company as the (at that time) all armed forces
heavyweight boxing champion. So the opportunity to train with boxers of that
level was a daily occurrence.
After leaving the Army George moved to Colorado were he
discovered Amal Easton. Professor Easton is the 7th
American to receive
his Blackbelt from legendary competitor and master trainer Renzo
Gracie. Professor Easton is also one of the very few Americans with
direct ties to the famous Gracie Barra Academy in Brazil. In 1999 George began training and competing
full time for Professor Easton and has competition experience from local to
international levels. While at Easton's George also trained Judo with jay Jack, and then Andres Hermida...Wrestling with olympic alternate Ried Delman and Mauy thai with Duane BANG Ludwig.
Coach George is
currently a Brownbelt under Amal Easton and still actively trains and competes
for the Amal Easton/Renzo Gracie Team.
